On the Water

Last year, my parents chipped in birthday money toward a canoe or kayaks. Carl’s mother gave an additional gift at Christmas. It took nine months scanning craigslist, used boat sites, and outfitters, but we finally found our boats. Thanks to a sale at Dick’s Sporting Goods we got two well-rated kayaks at 50% off, two paddles at 40% off, a pair of lifevests on a buy-one-get-one-free deal, and a rooftop carrier, topped off by a military discount off the whole package. All the new equipment ended up costing less than the cheapest used kayaks or canoes on craigslist. These photos were all taken at a lake on our Fort. Our region is full of lakes and streams, and we’re paddling out on the water every chance we get.
